Chuncheongbuk-do Cultural Heritage No. 82, Danyang Bokdo Byeolupam Gakja
This stone tablet, engraved by Confucian scholar Toegye Yi Hwang during the reign of King Myeongjong of the Joseon Dynasty, is known as Bokdo Byeolupam and is carved in the Haeseo script on granite.
The corridor here, created for irrigation purposes during Toegye's tenure as the governor of Danyang, serves not only as an irrigation channel with clear and clean water, but also as a scenic spot. It is said that that bathing in it not only cleanses the body but also purifies the mind. Toegye achieved enlightenment in this place.
