삼태산

It was called "Samtaegisan Mountain" because it looks like three large Samtaegis* lying face down, and "Nuaemeorisan Mountain" because it resembles a crawling silkworm (Nuae). Samtaesan Mountain is an unknown mountain that is not well known to hikers.
* It is used to carry ash, soil, and garbage scraped from the gudeul (used for underfloor heating), and to scoop grain into sacks during threshing. They are also used for a variety of other purposes by farmers, such as sowing seeds in the fields while tying them around their waists.

The mountain is also home to the second of the Eight Scenic Views of Danyang, 'Ilgwanggul Cave,' on the hillside, and there are many legends passed down in the villages all around the mountain, so you can enjoy your hike without getting bored.

Imhyeon-ri, the starting point of the Samtaesan Mountain hike, was once the office of Eula-hyeon. According to legend, when the wife of the newly appointed governor of Eula-hyeon was caught having an affair with a monk of the temple, the angry governor tore down the temple and moved the office to present-day Yeongchun.
