Danuri Aquarium, the largest freshwater fish ecology center in Korea

Danuri Aquarium, a prominent attraction in Danyang, stands as the largest freshwater fish exhibition center in Korea. It showcases approximately 23,000 individuals of 234 species of both domestic and foreign freshwater fish. With a ground floor and two basement levels, the aquarium boasts a large aquarium tank measuring 8m in height and an underwater tunnel, providing visitors with a one-of-a-kind experience akin to swimming alongside the fish. Alongside Danyang's signature species, the noble yellow mandarin fish of the Namhangang, China's highest protected species the red dragon, and the giant fish of the Amazon, the pirarucu, visitors can also encounter reptiles such as turtles and iguanas, and otters, making it an educational space for children and a nostalgic retreat for adults.
