Where water from Sobaeksan Mountain's Birobong Peak flows down through lush forests and rocky cliffs Dariansan Mountain

다리안산

Until 1950, to reach Sobaeksan Mountain, you had to cross a bridge called Gyegugyo Bridge, also known as Yungtak Bridge, and Unje Bridge, which means you had to calm down, clear your mind, and be vigilant.

There were 30 steps and a small bridge tied to a mulberry tree with vines of a wild chive, so it was said that people could barely cross and the village's large cows could not cross, so they had to die inside the bridge.

It is said that there was a perfect spot for a grave in Dariansan Mountain, but it was not possible to use it because the ground had a strong aura. However, someone secretly built a graveyard, and the dragon guarding Dariansan Mountain became angry and left the pond and ascended. When the dragon ascended, the place it stepped on was dug up and water pooled there, so it was called 'Yongdam (Dragon Pond)', and the waterfall was called 'Yongdampokpo Falls'.

Old people associated the inside and outside of the bridge with death, so they deliberately built a weak bridge and used it carefully. It is also said that the mountain was home to the "Bridge of Custom" and "Bridge of Promise" that many people passed through for a long time.

Nowadays, the Darian Local Tourist Site has been built, and many visitors and hikers come here as it is the main starting point for climbing Sobaeksan Mountain and offers campsites, dome houses, huts, a performance stage, a grassy plaza, and sports facilities.
