A quiet mountain between Hoesan-ri and Janghoe-ri in Danseong-myeon, Sabong

사봉

There are many famous mountains such as Sobaeksan Mountain, Geumsusan Mountain, and Doraksan Mountain around, so it is relatively unknown. Moreover, with Chungjuho Lake spreading out to the north of the mountain, along with Gudambong Peak and Oksunbong Peak, two of the Eight Scenic Views of Danyang, it hasn't made the cut for consideration. As a result, Sabong Mountain (879m) is a quieter and more relaxing hike.

At the summit, there are iron stakes that were hammered in by the Japanese during the Japanese occupation to cut off the Korean Peninsula's veins, which breaks our hearts.

The 5.5-kilometer hike starts from Gasan-ri Hoesan Village, passes the transmission tower and Anbu*, climbs to the summit, and then descends through the abandoned mining area to Gumimaeul Village, taking about four hours. There is also an option to descend to Jebibong Peak on the way down.
* Anbu: Where the ridge is indented like a horse's saddle.
